Tubby’s Hurt Foot

Tubby was let out tonight (not by me though, because I was outside watching TV hehe).

So, when I came into the study room to check up on him, I noticed red paw prints on the cardboard castle. I was told that Tubby had fallen down & I suspected it was from Tubby’s paw, not Winnie’s.

My suspicion was confirmed when I saw that the skin of Tubby’s left paw had peeled & bled. There’s no way I could have taken a picture of him, because he was so squirmy .. even when we tried to put antiseptic on his paw. Afterwards, he even tried to lick his paw!

I’ll be keeping an eye on him for the next few days & hopefully he’ll have a speedy recovery.

Trip

August 29th, 2008

Was away for 2 nights & 3 days, but felt too long to be away from all the animals. I kept thinking if they were okay while I was gone.

When I arrived home, I was glad to see no animals had escaped, none had run out of food, and best of all, the chinnies looked excited when I saw them The chins had 2 opportunities to play outside of their cages; in the afternoon & at night. For dinner, I made all the hammies their favorite: scrambled egg with tofu yum yum!

During the trip, I saw this & was so tempted to pick some to bring home for Tubby ..

but nnnooo! I was in a national park & I’m pretty sure picking on the park’s plant can lead to some fines (Note: those are pinecones, which I can wash & dry in the oven as treats for the chinnies).

Overall, it was a good trip .. enjoyed the views. Here are a couple:

Hamsters sleep in the cutest positions. I managed to take a picture of Baby Hamster:

The robo girlies also sleep funny, but the instant I try to take a picture of them, they wake up 0_o

The Hoarder

I was cleaning the kitchen tonight & look what I found:

Let’s have a closer look at what the circled picture is:

It’s HAMSTER FOOD!!! Who could be the culprit of this?!?!

…. I think the prime suspect is Daddy Hamster …. since he managed to escape more than a week ago and I’ve seen him empty his pouch a few times when he’s walking around outside the cage …. I will need to further investigate this.

The Destroyer

Finally exams are over (I even had exams on Saturday AND Sunday ….).

This is what happens when you don’t pay attention to what the animals do when they’re outside of their cages …

That’s Tubby’s masterpiece. Look at all the exposed wiring .. how dangerous!

Lesson: just when you think your room is chin-proofed, don’t ignore the things that you THINK the chin may not chew at ……

Campbell Girlies

The 2 young ones are CRAAAZZZYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The supposedly nice beige one bit me when I was re-filling her water bottle. Punctured my skin! I think she’s been badly influenced by her mean sister. All day & night, the beige one keeps biting on the cage bars & it’s soooooo noisy! I have to have good sleep this weekend, but this girl is not helping at all!

Sssoooo, I’ve decided to name the beige one Pinky, the grey one Brain (or should it be the other way around .. the beige one Brain and the grey one Pinky?), and the black one Dee Dee

I shall refrain myself from playing with them & from any attempts of taming them, because I have to concentrate on this thing I have to get through this weekend. CONCENTRATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Finally ..

Here are pictures of the other 2 Campbell girlies, who I haven’t named yet:

They were moving so fast, I couldn’t get a clear picture of them. The grey one is the meanie, because she keeps biting me & I’m so scared to handle her. The beige one is the nicer one. They’re both littermates & I hope to tame both of them
