Jonah
November 30th, 2008
Jonah is [a] little dog that was hit by a car and left in the streets for 3 days, fed and watered by locals who called authorities for help. Help arrived 3 days later in the form of a trash compactor. As people took photos and videotaped what happened next[,] the world watched in horror as he was dragged by a noose around his neck with two broken legs to the trash compactor and thrown in and carted away to what they thought would be his grave. As Jonah was being dragged, videos clearly show authorities in the background laughing at this poor dog being tortured. Somehow, we don’t know how, Jonah survived this ordeal. Some say he was not crushed by the trash compactor however it has been said several of his vertebrae were crushed, he was rescued from the trash along with another dog found there and taken to a veterinarians office where he has been receiving treatment. Hopefully when he is strong enough he will have surgery and will be able to get on with his life.
People around the world fell in love with Jonah, we all prayed and gave positive thoughts on his survival; it must have worked because he is still with us. He was offered several homes outside of Turkey upon his release from the veterinarian’s office.
This is the less brutal version of the video, because it’s a collection of pictures.
This is the raw footage (warning: offensive graphics). I couldn’t finish the video, because it was just too painful for me to hear the dog whimpering nonstop.
Please help this lady’s mission to rescue and adopt Jonah by signing this petition. Or if you’re a Facebook member, join the group. It just breaks my heart that some people think of animals as merely things with no feelings.

Snoring ..
November 27th, 2008
Eating too much turkey on turkey day makes you sleepy.
Is snoring only a human thing? Or other creatures do it too? My Cocker Spaniel Joey snores, but that’s the only animal I know that could snore. But I guess other creatures snore too

Like Tubby ..

Winnie, too, has something for socks!!
When I let Winnie out, there was an old sock lying on the floor. Winnie went for it & started chewing it!

Happy chewing

I tried pulling the sock away, but Winnie wouldn’t let go of it

Tubby Has a Fetish
November 19th, 2008
Normally, I don’t have socks on. But since it’s getting cold lately, I wear socks. I thought that it’s a coincidence that Tubby tends to hump my feet only when I have socks on. So, I did a mini experiment. First, I would not have socks on & give Tubby my feet. He just ignored my feet. The second time, I had socks on & offered Tubby my feet … he humped it right away!! And he even came back for repeats! But I wouldn’t let him haha!

Future Pets?
November 17th, 2008
I think, when I first buy my own house, I’d certainly take the (current & future) pets into consideration, i.e. whether there’s a playroom for them, or there’s a garden for the more outdoorsy pets.
I have so many pets that I want as part of my family. Of course at this point in time, I’m only thinking about getting them for the future. Currently, I don’t have enough time & space for so many of them. And I’ll only welcome a pet once I know that I will be dedicated to them in the long run.
Sssoooo, here are some that I can think of now:
- A pair of guinea pigs (one short-haired & one long-haired, preferably a Texel long-haired)
- A turtle (any would do, as long they can grow big & freely roam around in my garden)
- A pair of ferrets
- A girl chinnie (maybe 2, so each of the boys can have a missus)
- Bunnies (oo I want so many different types, namely: any dwarfs like Hotot or any long-haired like a Lionhead)
- A pair of electric blue crayfish
- A hhugge tank of fat clown loaches
- A Pembroke Welsh Corgi
- A Flame Point Himalayan (hopefully one who can get along with my existing 6-year old Cocker Spaniel, Joey)
Sounds like a mini zoo

Bum-Bum Rub
November 13th, 2008
I don’t have any pictures of Tubby & Winnie together. That’s because when I initially got Winnie & tried to introduce Winnie & Tubby together, I did it the wrong way (despite the fact that it was the way Winnie’s breeder considered to be the ‘right’ way). Because of that, they aren’t able to get along until today. Doesn’t mean that I’ve given up, I’m still trying.
I’m trying this new thing, I call it the bum-bum rub. That’s not a technical term, but basically I rub Tubby’s bum onto Winnie’s, so that they’re used to each other’s scent. I’ve gotten bitten by the chins while doing this .. not sure if that’s an indication that they’re nervous, annoyed, or a combination of both. But I just think this picture is cute. Although you can’t tell from the picture, Tubby is actually heavier & bigger than Winnie .. maybe because Winnie is white, he’s sort of camouflaged against the wall

Dee Dee’s Ear
November 10th, 2008
I cleaned all of the hamster cages this weekend & decided to take pictures of them, too. I’ve always known that Dee Dee’s ear is different, but never got a picture of it. I think it’s most probably from a fight (from her previous home).

Crazy Girlie
November 4th, 2008
Pinky & Brain are 2 very noisy dwarfs; they always chew on the hardware mesh non-stop! I’ve given them some fiddlesticks & a doggy biscuit to chew on, but they don’t help. I’ve also tried putting some lemon & lime juice on the hardware mesh, but that doesn’t work either. I think I’ve also made it worse by giving them treats whenever they chew the hardware mesh .. so, instead of them chewing the hardware mesh, they’d eat their treats. I guess they’ve now associated chewing the mesh with treats .. not good. Lately though, I’ve noticed that Pinky tends to chew her foot, too!
What to do?
