Tubby Sprayed Me!

Tubby escaped out of his cage tonight when it wasn’t his playtime yet. So, when I managed to corner him under the TV, he stood on his hind legs and did this foghorn sound. As I was reaching to grab him, he peed on my hand!!!!!!!

Euw! After washing my hand, I tried to catch him again. Every time my hand got closer to him, Tubby did that ‘attack’ mode (standing on his hind legs & making foghorn noises) again. That seriously deterred me from grabbing him, for fear that he might pee on me again haha! For awhile he got his way, but I finally caught him & now he’s being punished in his cage.

Chinchillas are prey animals and one of their defence mechanisms is this spraying tactic. The females are more known for spraying and apparently they’re pretty good at aiming, too This was the first time Tubby every sprayed me & I was really surprised! I hope that he won’t do it again. Looking back at it, I think it was a funny experience

Another chinchilla porn!

Unlike Winnie, Tubby fancies something else: Mr. Penguin.

I knitted a stuffed penguin awhile back just for fun. When Tubby was the only chinchilla, I thought he could use the company of Mr. Penguin .. & he sure did .. to the point that Mr. Penguin’s right foot & right wing came off, because Tubby ‘groomed’ him too much. So, for Mr. Penguin’s sake, I placed him in Winnie’s cage, where I know he’ll be better taken care of.

Progress

I counted 4 half-sized poops when I let Winnie out (compared to the bead-sized poops that hardly came out of him for the past few days)

Winnie looks funny here, because he’s in the middle of chewing his food.
I think he’s getting spoiled by being syringe-fed; he shows appetite when being syringe-fed, but doesn’t want to eat pellets on his own.
Note: that hairy hand isn’t mine …

Look What Winnie Did .. AGAIN!

So, I let Winnie out the other night. When he got onto the desk, he came over to my arm. He assumed THE position & I continually said “No! No!” sternly, because normally he would know what that means & would back off. But nnooooo …. he did it! He did the deed AGAIN!!!!

The pictures are blurry because it’s hard to get a clear shot of liquids when I use a flash. So these 2 pictures were taken without a flash & hence the bluriness. The left one is the deed on the table and the right one is the deed on my laptop 0_o

I picked him up right after, meaning to put him back into the cage. But I noticed that his *ehm* weewee was prolapsed & I honestly don’t know what to do with a prolapsed penis .. I’ve read about how to put it back, but never tried it & don’t want to do it wrongly for the first time. So, I set Winnie down on the table .. he went back to his business (that is .. playing with his boy part). And once he’s done, tada! He managed to put his weewee back in!!

Afterwards, straight back to the cage he went. Enough playing around for one night

Tubby’s Hurt Foot

Tubby was let out tonight (not by me though, because I was outside watching TV hehe).

So, when I came into the study room to check up on him, I noticed red paw prints on the cardboard castle. I was told that Tubby had fallen down & I suspected it was from Tubby’s paw, not Winnie’s.

My suspicion was confirmed when I saw that the skin of Tubby’s left paw had peeled & bled. There’s no way I could have taken a picture of him, because he was so squirmy .. even when we tried to put antiseptic on his paw. Afterwards, he even tried to lick his paw!

I’ll be keeping an eye on him for the next few days & hopefully he’ll have a speedy recovery.
