Too Small!
September 16th, 2009
This is what happens when you put a small wheel in the robos’ cage:

“Heeeyy! You’re stepping on my face!”
Good thing it was only temporary

Summer Goodness – Cilantro
July 22nd, 2009
Since it’s summer, I’ve been keeping a vegetable garden growing all sorts of things. One of the things I’m growing is cilantro & my cilantros are going crazy! They keep going to seed every week & I have to keep trimming them. That’s surely a good thing for the hamsters

To see how the garden has progressed throughout the summer, see here.
ps: the chinchillas also like cilantros, but they like them slightly crispy & dry.

Look what happens when you let a hammie out & he gets into the laundry basket:

That’s Daddy Hamster‘s doing, alright! Good thing it is only a house shirt.

Bad News
April 5th, 2009
The other night, I was playing with Dee Dee. Since it was pretty late at night, I had most of the major lights off & only had 1 floor light on. I noticed that Dee Dee‘s right eye is pearly white. Fearing the worse, I held her up against the light for a closer look …. her right eye is really pearly white! Her other eye is still black though. I guess she has cataract in one eye? I’m guessing that she’s slowly lose vision in her poor eye (if she hasn’t already lost her vision), but I hope that she’ll still be able to see with her good eye. Poor girlie. She is one disheveled hammie; nevertheless, I still think she’s one sweet girlie.

Static
March 2nd, 2009
I remember when Baby Hamster was running on his Ovo wheel, I noticed that all his fur stood up. When I took him out of the wheel, his fur no longer was spiky. Then, I did a little experiment with my plastic comb. Voila!

The picture is slightly blurry because BH wouldn’t stop squirming.
