Ok, maybe not. After all, Winnie is too cute to play the character Brain.

No More Lumps!

This past Monday, Baby Hamster went for a second vet visit to have his sutures taken out (from the removal of the ‘mobile’ cysts found under his neck) & to have another surgery (the removal of his skin below his left ear that houses the smaller cysts).

As the vet was examining the smaller cysts he was about to operate on, they have actually subsided to the point that the vet decided surgery was no longer needed I think it must have been the 7-day dosage of Baytril that really helped the smaller cysts to go down. Now he’s been given some kind of steroid gel to be applied on twice a day, for a week.

Yay for a successful recovery!

Seems like there’s 1 girly who is always hogging the food bowl. I don’t want to get them a bigger food bowl because they’ll just end up pooping inside the food bowl 0_o

Summer Goodness – Broccoli

We all know how hamsters love broccoli. But what can beat eating freshly picked broccoli from your own garden?

What Baby Hamster is eating is not the broccoli florets your normally find in the supermarket. Because it’s been quite warm lately, my broccoli plants have started going to seed. That’s why the broccoli that BH is eating looks slightly different. Had I cut the broccoli later, it would’ve flowered.

I was recently in the Tiny Island. During my stay, I did not dare to brave the crowds and the expensive taxi fares of going into downtown despite all the new shopping places. Because of that, I didn’t buy anything for myself, but I didn’t forget to bring back some gifts for the animals:

Since I’m stingy & I don’t want these foods to run out too fast, these foods will only be treats & not part of the animals’ daily diet.

Ageing Joey

I haven’t seen my doggie for over 8 months and it feels like he’s aged a lot:

The fur on his cheek has turned white ..

And the fur around his nose has turned white, too.

We’re not sure of his real age, but he was supposedly born in December of 2000, which makes him 9 years old this year. The problem is, we’re sure of he is an American or an English Cocker Spaniel; American Cocker Spaniels have an average lifespan of 10-11 years (too short) and English Cocker Spaniels have an average lifespan of 11-12 years (still too short!). Not sure why cocker spaniels’ lifespan is shorter than other purebreeds. I hope that with a healthy lifestyle, Joey can beat the statistics
